All of her life, Cathy has been creating unique hand-made gifts for family and friends. She has been a perpetual maker and enthusiastic experimenter. Being primarily self-taught, she has enjoyed exploring all kinds of artistic expression that have involved everything from fabrics and dyes to paints and paper. Cathy's illustrations and broad use of colours make her artworks vibrant and joyful. When she discovered digital design, Morning Sky Creative was born.

Digital surface pattern design has provided an amazing creative opportunity for Cathy. With the help of a computer and an Adobe Illustrator "Immersion" course, her drawings on paper are turned into repeating patterns for any kind of surface. She can manipulate the designs and manage multiple colour combinations while scaling the final pattern to any size.
With the recent development of print-on-demand opportunities, Cathy's dream of creating and designing textiles has become a reality and her art can now be seen on clothing, home decor items and even ceramics, stationery and accessories. Cathy works with sustainability in mind and print-on-demand provides a way to ease the impact of industry on the planet.
